ORBIT / A FIELD COMPANION

About Orbit

Orbit is an independent stargazing website published by Saverem. It helps curious beginners prepare a short observing session, understand basic telescope calculations, and keep a useful record of what they see.

What you can do here

Use the session planner to make a printable checklist, compare eyepieces with the calculator, or work through a field guide. These tools do not require an account, a paid subscription, or your location.

Where the material comes from

The field guides provide purpose-written activities and worked examples, with references for the underlying science. They are educational material, not claims of professional astronomy credentials or reports of personal field tests. The NASA explorer is a separate feature displaying third-party material and attribution.

Orbit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by NASA. Read our editorial and source policy for how to distinguish our material from the NASA feed.
