ORBIT / A FIELD COMPANION

Privacy policy

Effective October 14, 2026. This policy describes the Orbit website at saverem.com, published by Saverem. Privacy questions can be sent to saverem66@gmail.com.

Tools and browser storage

The eyepiece calculator and session checklist process inputs in your browser. Orbit does not send those inputs to its server. Checklist selections are held in memory and reset when the page reloads. The NASA explorer stores saved discoveries in localStorage under orbit.collection.v1. Remove entries from My collection or clear this site’s browser data to delete them. Saved discoveries are not synced to an account.

Requests and service providers

Your browser sends ordinary connection information, including your IP address, browser details, and requested URL, to the website host when loading pages. Hosting services may retain operational and security logs under their own policies. The app is configured for Vercel hosting; see Vercel’s privacy policy. Orbit does not set a separate retention period for infrastructure logs in this application.

The NASA explorer requests dated astronomy entries through Orbit’s server. Its live images can load directly from third-party hosts that receive connection information. Opening an external reference, image source, or email link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. The main guides and tools do not use external fonts or embedded videos.

Advertising and analytics

This version does not load Google advertising scripts or analytics trackers, and does not request ads. A Google AdSense account identifier and ads.txt entry are present for publisher verification; neither makes an ad request by itself.

If advertising is activated later, this policy must be updated to describe the actual data practices. Google and advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to deliver and measure ads. Learn how Google uses information from sites using its services and manage Google personalization through My Ad Center. Advertising consent choices, where required, must be offered before that integration is activated.

Email and your choices

If you contact the publisher, your email address and the information you choose to send are used to respond to your request. Ask the publisher to delete correspondence you no longer want retained, subject to any applicable obligations. You can clear local saved discoveries using your browser’s site-data controls. Orbit does not request precise location or create user accounts.
